It’s that time of year again… time to renew your Sun Gallery Membership or become a first-time member! All memberships are valid from January 1st – December 31st. Send your 2026 Membership donation before December 31, 2025, for a 2025 charitable tax deduction.
In 2025 we had a very good art camp season and kickoff to our popular field trips programs. Check out our new and updated front garden thanks to our friends at HARD and the Eden Garden Club. We are excited to continue our legacy for our 61st year in 2026!
Unfortunately, we were recently notified that Hayward eliminated all community grants for 2026-2027 due to city budget woes. So your continued support is needed now more than ever! We plan to get through this stronger than we were before, though! The Sun WILL continue to SHINE!
Right now we are run entirely by volunteers, and it’s been tough having no paid staff. We really need your help – can you please renew your membership? And consider a special donation? We want to expand and build our board as well. Would you like to be a board member? We are looking!

- Art Tours for Schools: 2026 will be a blockbuster year for the 35th Annual Children’s Book Illustrator Show. We’re now asking for sponsors, donations, and volunteers for this exhibit.
- Summer Art Camp: Ask us about the exciting plans we have for 2026!
- Art Exhibits: Traditional and non-traditional, by local artists, including our 2nd Art Meets Tech show!
- Ask about hosting your event at our courtyard stage event space, gallery rooms, or makerspace.
- Art Studio & Makerspace: Enjoy using our art supplies, laser engraver, 3D printers, Cricut vinyl cutter, sewing, electronics, & toolshop. (with your monthly support.)
Due to losing former and upcoming grants, we are shifting to a new monthly recurring Sustaining Membership program this year. We need 50 members to sign up at $20 / month dues to cover $1K in monthly expenses. You can sign up at sungallery.org/memberships/ or send a check for a full year’s dues of $240 $200 (get 2 months free!). If this is unaffordable, we also offer $10 / month or our Legacy Annual dues. As a member of the Sun Gallery & Makerspace, you will be invited to attend receptions, participate in gallery shows, and have use of our makerspace and courtyard. Remember, you don’t need to be an artist to be a member of Sun Gallery – all you need is to believe that art and creating are important!
