2017 Summer Art Camp


The Sun Gallery's Art Camp offers your child the creative opportunity to learn about art, create original art projects and most of all - to have fun!


Students will learn art fundamentals, create individual art works plus a group project, meet exhibiting artists and have access to a REAL gallery! Each week is different, all summer long.



Art Camp Enrollment Options


Full Camp Session (One Week)

Monday - Friday

9 am - 3 pm

Fee: $255 - includes materials (Reduced rate for July 4th week is $200 - 4 days)


For Drop in students:

Monday - Friday

9 am - 3pm

Fee: $55 per child for one day of camp (includes materials) On space available basis only


1/2 day week students: 

Monday - Friday

9 am - 12 pm or 12 pm - 3 pm

Fee: $130 for the week (half days only available by the week - includes materials)


We offer before and after care at $10 per hour or $100 for the week 8am to 6pm. 



Our art camp experience was created not only to be fun and educational for everyone but also flexible for parents and guardians too!

We offer full week long sessions, single day (Drop in) and half day times for camp students.


Drop in students are welcome to show up at the times listed above, you do not have to be signed up for a full week session to be able to stop by one day and try out the camp experience for your student. All students must be registered for our summer art camp program to participate. When your student is dropped off, we require the parent or guardian to fill out our registration forms for their student.

First week starts June 19-23

Mondays - Fridays

 

Session 1 June 19th - 23rd:  So you want to be a Manga Master? with Sara Doerr  Ages 9-14   (Anime and Manga design)


Session 2 June 26th - 30th:  Got Drama?

(Introduction to Theater Arts class) with Christie Leonardini


Session 3 July 3rd, Jul.5th - 7th:(Reduced rate for July 4th week is $200 - 4 days) Jessica Doerr: California Dreaming (art, nature, history, famous Ca. artists)

NO ART CAMP TUESDAY (7/04) DUE TO INDEPENDENCE DAY


Session 4 July 10th - 14th: Laurie Costa: Create your own Carnival!

(learn face painting, make balloon animals create your own clowns and games)

 

Session 5 July 17th - 21st: Christine Bender and Dorsi Diaz: Summer Beach Art Party Fun at the Sun! (sand painting, clay and sand and water creatures)


Session 6 July 24th - 28th: Christine Bender: Masks, Sculptures and Totems "Oh My!"

(3D sculptures, paper mache, mixed media)


(FULL) Session 7 July 31st - Aug. 4th: Victoria Vandenbusch: Robots and Rainbows

(‘steam’ art fun – science, technology, engineering, art & math)


Session 8 Aug. 7th - 11th: Nadia Cal: Pirates in Paradise

(Island art fun with Illustrator Nadia Cal of Mr. Green Pirate Fame!)


Session 9 Aug. 14th - 18th: Jessica Doerr / Sara Doerr: All around the Globe

(worldview art and food)
