2018 Summer Art Camp

The Sun Gallery's Art Camp offers your child the creative opportunity to learn about art, create original art projects and most of all - to have fun!

Students will learn art fundamentals, create individual art works plus a group project, meet exhibiting artists and have access to a REAL gallery! Each week is different, all summer long.

Art Camp Enrollment Options

Full Camp Session (One Week)

Monday - Friday

9 am - 3 pm

Fee: $275 - includes materials (Reduced rate for July 4th week is $220 - 4 days)

For Drop in students:

Monday - Friday

9 am - 3pm

Fee: $65 per child for one day of camp (includes materials) On space available basis only

1/2 day week students: 

(special weeks only when available)

Monday - Friday

9 am - 12 pm or 12 pm - 3 pm

Fee: $150 for the week (half days only available by the week - includes materials)

We offer before and after care at $15 per hour or $150 for the week 8am to 6pm. 

Our art camp experience was created not only to be fun and educational for everyone but also flexible for parents and guardians too!

We offer full week long sessions, single day (Drop in) and half day times for camp students (on special weeks only) 

Drop in students are welcome to show up at the times listed above, you do not have to be signed up for a full week session to be able to stop by one day and try out the camp experience for your student. All students must be registered for our summer art camp program to participate. When your student is dropped off, we require the parent or guardian to fill out our registration forms for their student.

Session 1:  June 18 – 22nd     Pets and Animal Week with Brandy Tompkins


Session 2:  June 25 – 29    Got Drama?  (Introduction to Theater Arts) TBD


Session 3:  July 2, 3, 5, 6  Toys and Games from Around the World    (Dive back into history and  learn how to create, make and then play with your own  toys and games, you’ll  never be “board” again!)  with  Richard Silveira

 (No art camp July 4)) 


Session 4:  July  9 – 13    Create your own Carnival!  (learn face painting, make balloon animals, create your own clown and games) with Laurie Costa


Session 5:  July 16-20     What a Character!!   (Cartooning, Character development & Anime drawing) with Sara Doerr


Session 6: July 23 – 27    Book Writing, Bookmaking and Illustrating   (write and illustrate your own books!) with Linda Lens (award winning illustrator of “Captain Mama” and “Captain Mama’s Surprise”)


Session 7:  July 30 – August 3    The Great Experiment –Science and Art Adventures  (STEAM art fun – science, technology, engineering, art & math)  with  Richard Silveira 


Session 8:  August 6 – 10     2018 Rockin’ Music & Art Blast (Music & Visual Arts) with Henry Call ages 6-13


Session 9:  August 13 – 17    Recycling, Upcycling and Fun-cycling Art  (let your imagination run wild and be Earth friendly at the same time!) with Christine Bender and the Doerr family.
